Like the new layout? Cause I do!

So, progress on the Sunrise Circle Jacket is going wonderfully. I have the back done and started the left sleeve. I'm very happy with the colorway. The pictures online I've seen of others' projects just didn't do it justice! I'm once again enjoying a more challenging project. Not that it's that difficult, it's just increasing and decreasing but it's way more work than let's say a baby hat! I needed something substantial to spice up my knitting a bit. Anyway, it's going well and I'm really enjoying it. I've come across comments about being totally bored with the stockinetted. Knitting with Noro REALLY helps with that. The color changes make it much more interesting.

Unfortunately, now I'm contemplating putting that aside (very painfully might I add) to work on Christmas Stockings. It's almost Thanksgiving and I have 5 stockings to start on. Not to mention I wanted to make presents this year too. That probably won't happen though. I NEED to have the stockings done this year. It's our first Christmas in our own place and we have a fireplace in the living room. how can I buy cheapo stockings? It'd be sacrilege! Okay maybe not sacrilege, but seriously I'd have a hard time forgiving myself for using store bought stockings! So here's what I'm thinking.

This one for the Hubby.

This one for moi.

And these for the boys.

Doable? I sure hope so. I should start with the boys'. I think they'll work up pretty quickly. my only concern with those is the blocking after they're felted. Hopefully a coat hanger wonked out will work just fine. Is it bad that mine is the most intricate? I just thought it was girlie and the others are more masculine. Any comments? Come on make me feel better about this, cause I think they're perfect :)

I'm sad that all the fall decorations are soon to be put away. Maybe once I start being surrounded by the new seasons decorations I'll be in more of a Christmas spirit. I just sooooo love fall. Plus, I'm seriously not looking forward to the snow. Two more years and hopefully we'll be in some warm climate like California. Only time will tell.

After all that work to rehaul my blog, I'm soooooooooooo hating the layout for my posts. I can't line anything up! Expect a new layout soon :(

Ummmmm, sooooo...yeah. I just tried to publish a post I wrote long ago and finally just got to putting pictures on it, but I'm looking at my blog and no post. Weird. Maybe it'll show up later?

Okay so anyway, knitting. I have lots to share! I finished the Jackyll & Hide hat. Here's pics.

After I completed that novelty, I was consumed with Halloween costumes. The boys were Mario, Luigi, and Yoshi. I made them with a trip to goodwill and Walmart. They cost me about $40-50 for all three. All it took was a few clothing items, some felt, sewing utencils, a little paint, and face paint. I was sooooooo proud of the finished products! The camera made the different greens on the yoshi costume look more drastic than they really were. They matched pretty well. And yes of course the hat is knitted. The spikes are just felt sewn on to it though.

Now that Halloween has passed I've moved back to knitting full-time. I started a new project. I had bought 12 skeins of Noro Silk Garden in plans to make a Klaralund. I recently decided that the Klaralund would probably not be so flattering on me. (Side note- I figure that out through my many recent adventures on Ravelry, I LOVE LOVE LOVE that site!!) So I browsed some other patterns and stumbled on this beaut.

It's actually the Sunrise Circle Jacket from Interweave Webknits but done in NSG, which I love! I probably wouldn't have done this jacket for it's original look. I just fell in love with this version of it though! And thank god Jench1n included her modifications of the pattern in her pattern notes. Thanks girl! I actually read that her modification said she frogged back to her decreases and redid them so the neckline would be tighter. So I'm totally bummed because I'm well past halfway on the back and I'm convinced I have to frog all the way back. But when I took a closer look I realized she frogged to the RAGLAN decreases which I hadn't gotten to yet. YAY! I was sooooo glad to realize I didn't have to frog my 4-5hrs of knitted beauty I worked up the same day. So I'm happily knitting my jacket and totally enjoying it. Here's a peek at the colorway and my early progress!
